Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN) in Lusaka, you'll take another flight to Mfuwe. A representative will meet you at Mfuwe Airport (MFU) to transfer you to your camp in South Luangwa National Park. The camp offers breathtaking views of the flood plain and the Luangwa River, featuring a dining area, lounge, swimming pool, natural hot tub, and a photographic hide for closer views of the animals. You'll stay in chalets with private verandas, offering stunning views and spa treatments. Spend the evening relaxing after your flight.
Over the next two days, enjoy activities such as safari drives and bush walks to see wildlife. You'll also have the chance to visit the local community to learn about their culture and traditions, accompanied by local guides.

After breakfast, a driver will take you to Island Bush Camp, located about three hours south of Kafunta River Lodge. This tranquil camp offers almost complete solitude with five chalets on stilts overlooking the river. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom with flushing toilets, cold running water, and a bucket of hot water for a shower. The focus here is on walking safaris, so wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
Today, walk 4 miles (7 km) from Island Bush Camp to the secluded Three Rivers Camp. The staff will transport your luggage. Three Rivers Camp is an eco-camp set at the confluence of the Luangwa, Kapamba, and Lusangazi Rivers. The stylish tents offer views of the Luangwa River and the game-rich lagoon. Each tent has a deck with comfortable chairs, en-suite bathrooms with double sinks, flushing toilets, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Enjoy game drives and hikes in this area.

A driver will take you back to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Zambezi, with a layover in Lusaka. Upon arrival in Zambezi, a Baines River Camp staff member will transfer you to the lodge. Depending on your arrival time, you may go on an afternoon game drive. Baines River Camp offers various land- and water-based safari activities. Your accommodation is a spacious suite with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and luxurious bedding. Relax on your private veranda and enjoy the river views.
