Victoria Falls & Chobe River Houseboat – 5 Days

Your journey begins at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, where you'll board a flight to Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe. Upon arrival, an English-speaking guide will transfer you to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Located just outside the town of Victoria Falls, the lodge offers a wilderness feel with a waterhole that attracts wildlife, best viewed from sunset to early evening.

After breakfast, meet your guide for a tour of Victoria Falls, starting with a stop at the Big Tree, a historic baobab tree. The tour continues from the Livingstone statue and the Devil's Cataract, through a rainforest to Danger Point, covering approximately 3 kilometers with spectacular viewpoints. Raincoats may be needed depending on water levels. Next, visit a local African village where the head of the village will show you around the homesteads, the local borehole, and a rural school. Return to your hotel for some leisure time before your guide takes you to a jetty for a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, complete with light snacks and drinks. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and possibly a stunning African sunset before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to the northern border of Botswana to clear customs and immigration, then proceed to Kasane Immigration. From there, a representative from the Chobe Princesses will guide you through customs for Namibia and transfer you by boat to Impalila Island. Board the Chobe Princesses houseboat for a two-night stay, which includes all meals and activities such as game viewing, guided fishing, birding, and walks on Impalila Island to see ancient baobab trees or visit a local Namibian village.

Spend the day on the Chobe River, enjoying flexible and personal safari activities due to the small number of guests on each houseboat. You can choose from a variety of activities or simply relax on the deck, taking in the breathtaking scenery and wildlife.

After an early breakfast, transfer by boat to Kasane Immigration to clear customs for Botswana. A guide will then transfer you to Victoria Falls Airport, clearing customs en route. Fly back to Johannesburg from Victoria Falls Airport, concluding your adventure.
